Problem    Tipico Coffee is a coffee shop and roastery located in Buffalo, NY. Their beautifully curated interior reflects their brand values of community, craftsmanship, and fun. However, their visual identity did not feel consistent with this message and did not accurately represent their true essence.

 

Solution     Using extensive research and brand strategy, I aimed to create a brand identity that reflects the cafe’s friendliness, quality, and commitment to fostering relationships. I took inspiration from the bright colors and organic shapes featured in the cafe to create the logo, and I chose the name Bluebird for its connotations of natural beauty and joy. The tagline draws on the shop’s aim of creating a space that supports both community and quality products.

Research

The strategy phase of this project included market research and the development of multiple creative directions. I used a deck of over 50 slides to break down the brand strategy and ideation for visual identities. Included below are some of the slides.

Manual and Brand Applications

Once the brand’s core values and logos were solidified, I created a full brand manual to aid in understanding the cafe’s brand essence and visual identity. Additionally, I developed mockups to highlight the application of the identity to a variety of touchpoints.
